Open the official Lufthansa booking service above. Have the booking reference and passenger details from your confirmation ready. Review your itinerary, flight status and available self-service options. The airline may require account sign-in or additional verification.
Available actions depend on the fare, itinerary, timing and ticket issuer. An option shown in a reservation is not necessarily an issued ticket change until confirmed.
When an online flight change is not available
If the booking service cannot complete the requested date or routing change, check the fare conditions, ticket status and who issued the ticket. A change may require a fare recalculation, additional taxes, an exchange or a ticket reissue. For agency-issued tickets, the original seller may need to handle the request.
Business Class and First Class reservations
Before changing a premium-cabin booking, verify that the replacement service offers the intended cabin and eligible inventory. Aircraft changes, partner-operated segments and booking-class restrictions can affect availability. Fare differences and disclosed service charges may apply.
Connections, returns and partially used tickets
For a Lufthansa itinerary connecting through Frankfurt or Munich, check every onward segment, especially if the replacement flight uses a partner airline.
If travel has already begun, changing an unused return or onward segment can involve partially used ticket rules. Avoid skipping a flight without checking whether the remaining itinerary could be affected.
Airline disruption versus a voluntary change
If the airline has cancelled or significantly changed a flight, check the airline's offered alternatives and applicable passenger rights before paying for a voluntary change. An airline-initiated disruption may have different rules from a traveler-requested change.
